Su-Mac Specialties!

(1978 and continuing!)

For 29 years, the Su-Mac Club has organized specialties in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, area.  Nowadays, the January Specialty is held in downtown St. Paul, and the June Specialty is held about 20 miles north of St. Paul (Highway 61) between Hugo and Forest Lake.  January show site information is provided: January Specialties

First Show Weekend Each Year at the RiverCentre!

This first specialty occurs on the Friday of the first AKC show weekend each January.  This "January Specialty" is operated by a show superintendent in conjunction with the Land O' Lakes Kennel Club's all-breed shows.  Sweepstakes judges are knowledgeable and valued colleagues in the purebred hobby.  Skilled regular classes judges are most often assigned from the Land O' Lakes KC judging list.  The specialty is held in St. Paul's RiverCentre, as are the Land O' Lakes all-breed shows.

Then, the 23rd AKC Show Weekend at the "Ritz!"

When the weather warms up a bit, we hold the warmer-season June Specialties:
                    6 June Specialty 2008
                    5 June Specialty 2009
              4 June Specialty 2010

Our second annual specialty occurs on the Fridays of the twenty-third (23rd) AKC show weekend of each year.  Please click on the buttons above for maps.

Each year, its "June Specialty" is organized and operated independently by the Su-Mac Club.  We plan the shows, the awards, the photo shoots, and the Great Minnesota Get-Together" buffet:

The Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club (LMKC) all-breed shows will be held at a new site in 2007.  Please check: Jack Onofrio

It's a hike from our Specialty site to the all-breed site in Jordan, MN, but we are quite unlikely to give up on Total Recall in Hugo. With its air-conditioning and easy-on-the-feet rubber matting, who would?

June sweepstakes and regular classes judges are independently selected by the Su-Mac Club. Actually, the good people at LMKC have graciously offered to assign several of our judges to their panel.

Judges we seek out are highly-regarded breeders or connoisseurs of purebred Cairn Terriers.  Men and women selected and recruited by our Club have consistent records of:

*   gentleness with,
*   knowledge of, and
*   commitment to, our Breed and the CTCA Standard.
